Timothy Smith is the national GNSS position and navigation (PosNav) coordinator for NPS. He has been involved with GPS receivers in the federal government for more than 30 years and has managed the NPS GPS Program since 1994. During his tenure, Smith has taught GPS, worked with vendors to develop innovative uses for the technology, and participated in field projects that range from mapping shipwrecks in the Dry Tortugas to surveying water well heights in Death Valley.
