Even with today’s highly mobile workforce, multiple monitors help to make the most of the time employees spend at their desks. According to a study by CDW, workers spend more than twice the amount of time viewing information on laptop screens, compared with either smartphones or tablets.

Numerous studies conducted over the past decade have also found that by connecting additional monitors to those laptops, employees can be more productive than they would working on one small screen. According to one landmark study by a researcher at the University of Utah, workers got on task quicker, did the work faster and got more of the work done with fewer errors in multi-screen configurations.

The reason is simple: Switching back and forth between documents with one monitor is inefficient. Multiple monitors let employees see the whole picture, at once.

Take a look at the infographic below to learn more about the productivity and health benefits of dual monitor configurations for businesses large and small.
