LED display technology has come a long way from the chunky pixels you saw on outdoor billboards or in stadiums a decade ago. Today, fine pixel pitch indoor LED displays are starting to displace traditional LCD displays for premium video walls in lobbies, airports and even seminar rooms.

While at InfoComm 2018, I spoke to Samsung’s Lenny Kleyman about the latest evolution in LED commercial display tech — a solution called The Wall Professional.

Samsung first announced The Wall as a premium TV for consumers and has now brought to market The Wall Professional for commercial spaces. It’s Samsung’s first microLED video wall solution, and the distance between pixels has been brought down to just 0.8mm.

“The product is meant for commercial installations,” said Kleyman. “Anywhere you have a premium image requirement, The Wall would be the solution. It is adapted for executive boardrooms, commercial installations and hotel lobbies.”

LED solutions like The Wall do cost more than LCD displays on the market, but they have unique benefits — including no bezels — and are ideal for customers who want to create unique video walls in different shapes and aspect ratios. They’re also great options when you want to use displays to work seamlessly into the interior design.
