How to use Note Assist on Galaxy Z Fold6

Let Galaxy AI handle the busy work

During rapid, wide-ranging conversations or while taking notes, keeping track of the details is not always easy. Now, you can use Note Assist’s seamless note-taking and transcription capabilities to track everything.

First, start recording

Whether you’re chatting with a colleague about an upcoming work trip or in a business meeting, Note Assist captures it. Here’s how to start:

1. Open Samsung Notes [‘Samsung Notes’ icon].
2. Tap [the ‘New note’ icon].
3. Tap “+” then select “Voice recording.”
4. Record the conversation. Everyone can speak naturally. Galaxy AI* detects different speakers’ voices, which makes it easier to review a transcript later.

After you’ve finished the conversation, simply press [the ‘Stop recording’ icon].

Transcribe recordings instantly using Galaxy AI

After the recording ends, Galaxy AI takes over and transcribes the back and forth.

1. Tap [the Galaxy AI (Stars) icon] and select “Transcribe.”
2. Galaxy AI detects the language automatically. If it needs a different language pack, you’ll be prompted to download it.
3. After downloading, Galaxy AI continues transcribing.
4. Once finished, you’ll see a full transcript, including speaker tags and time codes — perfect for reviewing and organizing your notes.

Expand the window and add notes using the S Pen

For easier viewing, drag up the screen and expand the transcript window. You can even use the S Pen to write directly on the screen and jot down additional notes. This lets you compile all information into a single note. If you prefer a different screen orientation, simply rotate your Galaxy Z Fold6.

Create a summary in an instant

Instead of scrolling through pages of text, you can summarize your notes. Here’s how:

1. Tap “Summary” to condense the text.
2. Galaxy AI processes the information and creates a quick-read summary — perfect for encapsulating all the key points.
3. Tap [the ‘three dots’ icon], select “Add to,” then insert the summary into a new Samsung Notes section or page.

Translate and summarize a PDF

If your PDF is written in another language, you can translate it using the Galaxy AI PDF reader.

1. Open “My files,” then locate and select the PDF.
2. Tap [the ‘Samsung Notes’ icon] to open it.
3. Next, tap [the ‘Galaxy AI stars’ icon] and choose “Translate.” Galaxy AI quickly converts the text into your preferred language.
4. If you want to summarize it into a neatly organized overview, just tap “Summarize” and then “Generate summary.” Galaxy AI does the rest!
