Mobile Productivity

Mobile Proves to be a Key Focus for Digital Business at Gartner Symposium ITxpo 2015

Innovation is more than just creating for tomorrow. It requires grit, passion and a team of thought leaders addressing the pain points of your business. In our efforts to continue engineering for tomorrow, this past week we took our innovative efforts to Orlando, Florida, for a week of demonstrations, speaking sessions and educating attendees on what it means to adopt a mobile-first mindset for the enterprise at the 2015 Gartner Symposium ITxpo.

This year’s Gartner agenda focused on mission-critical priorities. Our team honed in on what a community of CIOs and senior IT executives need to drive business growth, embrace new perspectives and expand innovative organization and culture. Attendees at the Samsung booth experienced “day in the life” scenarios for a number of vertical industries with a focus on the mobile enterprise. In our booth, we held demonstrations within the following dedicated areas: Mobile First, Samsung Business Services, Mobile Security with KNOX and Connected Solutions in addition to vertical kiosks covering healthcare, finance and retail. Guests even had the opportunity to try our flagship mobile devices and solutions built for the enterprise including the Galaxy S6 edge+,  Galaxy Note5, and Tab S2.

One demonstration that garnered quite a bit of attention was Samsung Pay, showcased within the retail kiosk. Thanks to its simple, safe and secure mobile payment service with Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, it’s now accepted almost anywhere consumers can swipe or tap a card.

Key members of our leadership team even hosted three speaking sessions throughout the week, highlighting mobile strategies to engage CIOs and CXOs in transforming their businesses in the mobile economy. From Robin Bienfiat and the Red Hat team’s joint session about “Empowering the Enterprise with a Mobile-First Application Strategy” that addressed how businesses can provide a roadmap to manage mobility with a smart, mobile-first application strategy, to Sam Phillips leading a “Rising to the Challenge of Mobile Security” session about why mobile security is the foundation of digital business – even Eric McCarty, VP of Mobile Product Marketing, presented a significant untapped opportunity for enterprises to create a dynamic organization and drive business efficiencies with smarter mobile workflows.  Our leadership team not only emphasized how important it is to have a mobile strategy but to think about the enterprise of everything.

Meeting the needs of today’s businesses requires origination to drive business growth. We not only enjoyed a week full of showroom spectacle, but our new Samsung Business Services team introduced its wide array of specialized offerings to Gartner Symposium attendees. Digital business talks at Gartner not only happened on the showroom floor, but took flooded our Twitter feed. Read key talking points in our Storify social media recap below. We’ll see you all next year at the 2016 Gartner Symposium.
