What happens in Vegas… fosters innovation in healthcare IT? While this may not exactly be the mantra lived by some, it is certainly what transpired at this year’s HIMSS Conference. More than 40,000 conference attendees gathered in Las Vegas to discuss recent innovations in technology and visit the 1,300+ vendors showcasing their ideas for the future of wellness.

Samsung presented advancements in healthcare by highlighting three key areas: In-Hospital, In-Home and In-Health. Each category focused on the particular solutions that make each end-goal possible, whether it’s tablets for remote patient monitoring, or digital signage for clearer in-hospital communication. The population is living longer, and it is Samsung’s goal to ensure that patients receive the most convenient and comfortable care no matter where they reside.

In order to promote daily health and wellbeing throughout the week, Samsung also held the #HIMSSChallenge where attendees could walk 10,000 steps for a chance to win a brand new Gear VR. Several HIMSS participants were up for the task, and three dedicated walkers took home more than just health inspiration from the show floor.
