The explosion of e-commerce has many traditional brick and mortar retailers racing to re-invent themselves.

IoT can help them do just that, explains Mona Patel, CEO and founder of Motivate Design.

“One of the biggest pain points in the retail experience is paying,” explained Patel during a chat in New York earlier this year.

“What if you could take a hanger, try on the clothes if you want to, and then walk out [of the store] with [the hanger]?” Smart devices could help alleviate a major pain point for shoppers, and potentially generate buying data for stores.
