Love the S Pen or always wanted to add it to your mobile productivity arsenal? Samsung’s iconic stylus now comes embedded with the new Galaxy S22 Ultra, marking a first in merging the best of the S and Note series.

The S Pen is a magic wand for work, enabling you to use your phone more intuitively and creatively wherever your workday takes you. Immediately upon slipping the S Pen from its slot on the bottom of Galaxy S22 Ultra, you’ll see the Air Command menu pop up. From there, you can quickly access tools and shortcuts that make the S Pen a powerful and versatile productivity enhancer for any business user.

Here’s five tips for boosting your productivity using the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S Pen:

1. Take notes and make to-dos

In one tap from the Air Command menu, you can open Samsung Notes and begin writing with the fluidity of pen on paper. Use Samsung Notes to jot down takeaways during meetings and to-dos for your busiest days. You can also insert images or voice recordings into your Notes. Your saved Notes are safely stored in the cloud so you can revisit and update them at any time from any of your Galaxy devices.

2. Select and annotate

Also one tap away in the Air Command menu is Smart Select. This tool lets you quickly snip anything on screen by just drawing a box or freehand lasso around it. Once selected, you can add annotations, extract text and more. Share your feedback on a chart with one more tap from the Smart Select pop-up menu. Smart Select is your new best friend for mark ups on the go.

3. Translate between 30+ languages

Doing business internationally? The Translate feature in the Air Command menu helps you instantly interpret emails or documents in more than 30 languages. Choose your source and target language, hover over the word or block of text, and see the translation instantly. You can even hear it spoken by tapping the speaker icon.

4. Write on the lock screen

Once you become comfortable with S Pen and Air Command on Galaxy S22 Ultra, explore the Advanced Features menu in Settings. Here, you’ll find additional capabilities like the “Screen off memo” option. With Screen off memo enabled, you can take notes on Galaxy S22 Ultra without even unlocking the display. As if one tap wasn’t efficient enough, you now need zero. Simply slip the S Pen from the slot and start writing an important reminder such as a meeting time or deadline.

5. Set gestures

The S Pen’s built-in Bluetooth makes it a remote control. The button on the side of the pen brings you to the Air Actions menu, where you can see various gestures that you use within select apps for maximum productivity. The Camera app is a great example of the S Pen’s gesture capabilities – especially useful when taking selfies or working with your phone on a tripod. Press the S Pen’s button to take pictures, or start and stop video. Circle the S Pen clockwise to zoom in, or swipe up and down to switch cameras. Or, if you’re running a PowerPoint presentation in front of an audience (perhaps with Samsung DeX on a larger display), you can click the pen to advance to the next slide.
