How to use the markup tool on Samsung WAF Interactive Display

Ideating and brainstorming work better when everyone can see the big picture. That becomes all the more true when that big picture is Samsung WAF Interactive Display, which features a markup tool that lets you annotate and highlight what’s on the screen.

Whether you’re reviewing details with the team before a product launch, going over the numbers at the end of a financial quarter, training new employees on company processes and policies, or brainstorming marketing campaigns, the markup tool makes it easy to call attention to what’s important. No matter what you’re showing on office interactive displays, you can enhance collaboration, streamline presentations and boost productivity.

Accessing and using the markup tool

As with all the tools on Samsung WAF Interactive Display, the markup tool is easy to access and use. Here’s how:

  1. Find markup tool. Tap the right edge of the screen to open the sidebar and access the markup tool.
  2. Launch markup. Select the icon with an image of the pen. Repeat in the second taskbar that opens.
  3. Set parameters. In a new window that pops up, select the color, width and opacity of your digital pen.
  4. Use markup tool. With a dual pen in hand, write, draw, circle or markup the screen. Erase annotations with a sweep of the palm. When finished, tap the markup button in the taskbar.
  5. Save screen. Save to email-connected cloud drives or onto a connected USB by touching the download button.

Samsung Interactive Display WAF isn’t limited to writing or drawing on static images. You can also markup live videos. Other people in the meeting can add content to what’s shown on screen through connected devices, too.

The markup benefits

Whenever you’re gathering employees, partners or customers, you want to make a good impression. Presenting information on interactive meeting displays dynamically — be it charts, videos, products or bullet lists — goes a long way in achieving that. With the markup tool, you can do so all the more effectively, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing:

  • Adding relevant context. People might see a number on screen, like the cash you brought in per quarter, but not understand the details behind it. You can break down that figure by drawing a circle around it and demonstrating all the various revenue streams contributing to the bottom line.
  • Synthesizing feedback and revision requests. Even the most creative work usually needs refining. Your team or a third-party agency might have produced a new ad campaign, for instance, but the pictures and copy don’t quite capture your brand promise. Annotating the creative assets on screen will help streamline the process of developing the final version.
  • Capturing in-the-moment ideas. Let’s say one of the items on the agenda is coming up with additional markets or use cases for a new product. It’s easy to lose track of suggestions when they’re coming in quickly and furiously, but taking notes next to the relevant bullet point or product image on the screen will ensure all ideas are recorded and everyone feels heard.

Connecting the dots of success

Achieving success often depends on connecting the dots. Virtual collaboration tools like the markup tool allow team members to do just that, and so much more. With it, they can draw what they’re trying to say, use arrows and lines to connect disparate data points or even just underscore key terms for added emphasis. This also brings meetings to life — and before long, you might wonder how your team lived without it.
