Tablets

When does a Samsung Galaxy tablet make the difference for your business?

Over the last decade or so, tablets have become a handy bridge between personal computers and mobile phones. That’s because they marry a portable form factor with powerful functionality, ticking all the right boxes for business travelers. The years since have only strengthened these benefits, packing ever-more capabilities in a lighter and more durable frame. Security has been tightened on tablets, too, ensuring content remains just as protected as it is at the office.

That means the latest generation of tablets can match many of the capabilities in competing PCs and mobile devices. And in some work scenarios, tablets can even step ahead. Here are several that suit tablets particularly well and can make a difference for business.

Field work

For any jobs that regularly put workers outside or in physically challenging conditions — construction, shipping, disaster relief, warehouse management, paramedicine — a rugged and durable tablet can be a lifesaver. That defines the specs of Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5, which features a military-grade design — tested against the Defense Department’s MIL-STD-810 standards for rugged technology. It boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, as does Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Series. This durability helps ensure Samsung tablets can achieve all they need to in almost any circumstance and reduce the downtimes from the knocks, bumps and spills that might take out lesser tablets.

Sales and payments

Businesses and business makers on the go often need to process transactions and payments wherever they happen to be, whether at outdoor markets, conferences, events, pop-ups, restaurants or buildings receiving services. Here, again, the Active5 earns its stripes with a built-in TEEGRIS — a system-wide security solution that allows applications to run in a trusted execution environment based on TrustZone — and near-field communication turns it into a mobile point-of-sale when necessary. Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 can also process payments through downloadable apps in the Google Play Store and Galaxy Store. The 14.6-inch screen eases the process for customers, too, who can navigate tabs, read info and input numbers more easily. Strength extends to the battery, which can last up to 16 hours on a full charge.

Creative work

Those working in fields and jobs that regularly require creativity can find a good friend in a tablet. Not only does the screen space allow them to put down, flesh out, and organize ideas as they come, but tablets’ portability lets them do this anywhere, capturing inspiration in the moment, instead of having to wait until later. Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 enhances this further with two key tools: The S Pen and Drawing Assist. The first — redesigned into an ergonomic, hexagonal shape — enables pen-on-paper-like precision and a natural writing experience, while the latter employs AI to transform hand-drawn sketches into professional mock-ups.

Data entry and note-taking

The same S Pen makes it easy to take notes during brainstorming sessions, meetings and conferences. What’s more, the Note Assist feature enlists Galaxy AI to do the hard work of organizing and summarizing all of them. With the S Pen, it’s also possible to annotate documents, including PDFs, and input data into spreadsheets, databases and tracking software, which is ideal for anyone managing inventory and supply chains. The native camera also can scan QR codes and support barcode scanners or RFID readers, allowing workers to quickly update records on the spot.

Virtual meetings

All Samsung mobile devices come with powerful cameras and microphones, but tablets tend to serve video conferencing best. Firstly, the larger screen space allows multiple applications at the same time, so you can stream a call in one window and review presentation material in another — a feature given a further boost on the Tab S11 by the 3nm MediaTek chipset that smooths workflows and speeds performance across multiple apps. Its Dynamic AMOLED 2X display helps, too, generating 1600 nits of brightness indoors and 1000 outdoors, ensuring clear visibility almost anywhere.

Media and graphics consumption

Jobs that center on research often mean consuming a high volume of media material, be it news broadcasts, meetings and conference recordings, interviews, speeches or instructional videos. Tablets excel at playback, providing the screen space for maximum visibility. The Galaxy Tab S11 Series enhances this further with design that slims bezels and reduces reflections. That goes for sifting through graphs, charts and diagrams. The tablet’s Vision Booster also automatically adjusts brightness and contrast to ensure the sharpest color and contrast possible, and the easiest comprehension and digestion of material.

When tablets make the difference

The digital ecosystem that drives the workday encompasses multiple devices, including tablets. While most can handle a range of tasks, they perform best when matched to those that fit the form and function. That’s especially true for tablets, too. Paired with the right job, they can help workers step forward more confidently and achieve in any situation or location.
