At Mingo Manufacturing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which engineers and manufactures specialty drilling parts for the oil and gas industry, they know the benefits of employee mobility in manufacturing. But they also need devices that can stand up to demanding environments without sacrificing power or productivity.
“We don’t take it light on anything,” says production manager Justin Johnson. “It’s 107 degrees in the shop … We have dirt, manufacturing soot, welding spray, heat and humidity — but we have to keep working.”
To see how a smartphone with brains and brawn might bolster better mobile workflows, we challenged Mingo Manufacturing staff to dump their old devices and upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S7 active, the toughest Galaxy device on the market. Resistant to shattering, water and dust, the Galaxy S7 active was just the device for the job.
“You’ve got a lot of steel, big machines — when people are moving at 100 miles an hour, you can drop [your phone] at any time, which I have,” drafter and designer Rick Short says. “I picked [the Galaxy S7 active] right back up and there was nothing. I just kept on going.”
How can the right phone bring the benefits of mobile productivity to the most demanding environments? See what happened when Mingo Manufacturing put the Samsung Galaxy S7 active to the test in the video below.
