Some professions demand more from a monitor than others. This is particularly true of visually creative professions like graphic design, media production, photography and web design, which require absolute precision in a monitor. That means precise color fidelity, perfect contrast and reliable across-the-board performance.

The Samsung ViewFinity S80PB represents the kind of standard that creative minds demand to get the job done. It’s been designed to deliver class-leading image fidelity in every respect, to be stress-free to use (even over extended periods) and to be easy to integrate into a wider workstation ecosystem. It’s specifically intended to be a monitor for content creation, giving creative professionals everything they need to get the job done.

Color precision

The wider the color spectrum that a monitor can display, the greater the precision and subtlety of those colors. The S80PB can display more than 1 billion individual colors — up to 98 percent of the DCI-P3 spectrum — bolstered by Display HDR 600 support for the 32-inch model and HDR 400 for the 27-inch model. Graphic designers, for example, can work with correct color balance, free of discrepancies in saturation.

Additionally, the S80PB’s IPS panel preserves its extraordinary color fidelity and consistency through a super-wide 178-degree viewing angle, which makes collaboration straightforward.

Glare-free technology

The S80PB is the first monitor in the world to be certified glare-free by UL*, a globally recognized safety certification company that’s been operating for more than a century. In all, the S80PB frees content creators from suboptimal lighting conditions and the associated eye strain without the need for a monitor hood.

Samsung uses cutting-edge matte display technology and anti-glare/anti-reflection (SAGAR) film to elucidate even the subtlest color variations, even in bright lighting conditions. Inconsistencies in color or contrast can make a huge difference in design and production work; the S80PB takes these factors out of the equation.

Easy on your eyes

Anyone involved in the creative professions we’re discussing knows their work involves a lot of “looking.” In the same way that an ergonomic chair can alleviate back and neck strain, the S80PB’s suite of eye protection technologies can help keep eye strain and related discomforts to a minimum.

In the visible light spectrum, blue light is the most wearing on the eyes. Its effect can range from blurred vision and eye strain to permanent shifts in vision. The S80PB features Eye Saver Mode, which reduces blue light emissions to minimize immediate eye strain and prevent longer-term problems such as phototoxicity.

Screen flicker (caused by a monitor’s backlight turning on and off rapidly) is imperceptible to the naked eye, but it’s another cause of eye strain and headaches. In the S80PB, Samsung has deployed its Flicker Free technology to help remedy this problem. In addition, the S80PB features Adaptive Picture technology, which assesses ambient lighting conditions around the monitor and adjusts screen brightness accordingly.

This package of Intelligent Eye Care features puts the S80PB in Samsung’s range of high-resolution monitors that have earned Intelligent Eye Care certification from TUV Rheinland.

Simple connectivity

In addition to its extraordinary color fidelity, its package of eye care technologies and its immunity to glare, the S80PB also lets creatives get on with the job at hand by keeping workspace clutter and cable complexity to an absolute minimum.

The S80PB is a USB-C monitor, which means any laptop with a USB-C port or USB-C adapter can be connected to it using just one cable. This gives the user instant access to everything they need to be as productive as possible in no time at all. There’s no need for external docking stations, USB hubs or any other peripherals that take up space and create a mess of cables. One cable handles everything, including powering the laptop itself, which enables creatives to work in a clean, uncluttered space.

Available in 27-inch and 32-inch screen sizes, the S80PB is compact enough to easily coexist in a tight workspace but big enough to let photographers, graphic designers and creatives of all kinds become immersed in their projects. Its height-adjustable stand, which features tilt, swivel and pivot control points, only adds to its flexibility. With the S80PB, creatives can operate with minimal fuss or stress in a range of work environments — and deliver their highest-quality work as a result.

*UL (Underwriters Laboratories) defines “glare-free” as a reflection glare of less than 10 UGR (Unified Glare Rating), a discomfort glare of less than 22 UGR and a disability glare of less than 34 UGR.
