A record 44,000 people attended InfoComm 2017 recently in Orlando, with crowds of A/V and systems integration professionals eager to see the latest technology advances in digital signage, workplace conference rooms and more.
The Samsung booth, located in the heart of the main exhibition hall, greeted attendees with a large mosaic video wall of QLED displays — new technology that adds a quantum dots layer to commercial LCD monitors. QLED is Samsung’s answer to OLED displays — providing the same rich visuals, but adding commercial-grade reliability and much longer operating lifespans.
Samsung also highlighted its push into narrow pixel pitch direct-view LED video walls, showing attendees a range of LED options, with pitches — the distance between the LED lights — as tight as 1.5 mm. Other booth centerpieces were UH series premium video wall LCD displays, which have just a 1.7 mm bezel, or seam, as well as all-in-one, daylight-readable outdoor displays and the latest Samsung Smart Signage Platform displays, which run on version 3.0 of the Tizen operating system.
