You might not realize it, but augmented reality (AR) began more than 20,000 years ago. That’s the viewpoint of Jay Samit, Deloitte Digital’s independent vice chairman, who we caught up with earlier this month at the Mobile World Congress Americas Conference in San Francisco to chat about all things AR.
“Cave paintings in ancient France were the first time any living creative stored information outside of themselves so their environment could pass on that information,” Samit explained.
Twenty thousand years later, Samit says a lot has changed, but the most exciting thing about AR is the way it will change our lives without us even realizing it — from work to play.
