The Digital Signage Expo 2018 (DSE) kicks off on March 27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Billed as the world’s largest show exclusively dedicated to digital display technology, DSE is a great place to get up to speed on the latest digital signage tech and learn where the industry is headed.
This year’s expo looks set to highlight the rapid changes in the digital signage industry over the past several years. No longer is the discussion at DSE focused on the conversion of static indoor printed signs to digital format. Today’s IoT technology, smart signage and new types of display tech mean so much more is possible in the digital signage space.

New Display Technology From Samsung
Samsung’s presence on the expo floor (booth 1923) will showcase all of its latest smart signage, video wall, direct-view LED and collaborative display solutions. Highlights to look out for in the Samsung booth include:
- High Brightness for Outdoors: New high brightness technology from Samsung has largely overcome the environmental challenges posed by deploying digital signage outdoors in direct sunlight. The new Samsung OH-F Series offers a completely integrated, self-contained outdoor display that is certified to withstand the elements.
- Direct-View LED: Offering new possibilities to create non-traditional digital canvases, direct-view LED is seen by many as the future of display technology. With pixel pitches now as fine as 1.5mm, Samsung’s new Smart LED signage solutions featuring High Dynamic Range technology can create eye-catching, large-scale viewing experiences that look great up close too.
- Video Walls: With extreme narrow bezel displays that enable the gap between two screens to be reduced to as little as 1.7mm, you can now engineer a virtually seamless LCD video wall. Daisy chaining with Display Port 1.2 digital loop-out lets you simplify installation and content delivery too.
- Samsung Flip: Samsung’s innovative new interactive whiteboard solution aims to turn meeting culture on its head. A digital flip chart that can be placed on a rolling easel, Flip features an intuitive user-interface, supports up to four people writing or drawing simultaneously, and allows notes to be saved and shared right from the display. It’s a great option for both business meetings and in classroom environments.
