A massive digital signage upgrade was a central part of a $125 million renovation of Vivint Smart Home Arena, the home venue of the Utah Jazz, in the summer of 2017.
Over just 129 days, more than 600 smart screens — including dozens of digital menu boards and 27 video walls — were added around all the public areas of the downtown Salt Lake City entertainment venue.
More than 2,000 workers were on the job, demolishing concrete walls, building new dining areas and adding a state-of-the-art visual communications network designed to elevate the game- and event-day experiences for fans.
The new system runs on Samsung Smart Signage displays, using embedded System-on-Chip (SoC) media players and Samsung’s Tizen operating system. The upgrade was planned and executed by solutions provider RevelTV, and also includes a first-of-its-kind IPTV system in the premium club and suite areas.
