When it comes to virtual reality, it’s not all fun and games.
Earlier this month, I traveled to San Diego for the Enterprise Wearable Technology Summit where I prompted four wearables experts to discuss the impact of VR on business both now and in the future.
From training employees, to simulating problems, to improving public safety, the use cases for VR were expansive.
“Being able to look at a problem with predictive capabilities and sensor data — and put it into a virtual reality to simulate it — is [something] customers are very hungry for,” said Jereme Pitts, chief operating officer of Librestream Technologies.
Meanwhile, Samsung SDS’s sales lead for federal acquisition Gabriel Murphy is looking forward to the safe side of VR. “I’m looking forward to law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMTs simulating the training they would do in real life, but in a protected and closed environment,” said Murphy.
